The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.

Dear Ministry Partners,

The Lord has promised that we who sow in tears will surely reap a bountiful harvest in joy!  Much of the past 18 months that we have invested in establishing God's kingdom here in Cambodia has been in doing the work of plowing and sowing.  I have since discovered why weeping is involved - sowing is hard work!  And, patiently waiting for the harvest can be heart-wrenching.  It is this foundational aspect of our work which tries our patience the most.

However, we are encouraged because God continues to give us glimpses of what the finished "house" is going to look like!  It is the hope of the completed house that keeps us looking up and looking ahead in faith.

Sihanoukville Housechurch

The housechurch in Sihanoukville is now moving forward!  Three young families and a few single men make up our growing body of believers.  We are taking the time to lay a strong foundation in teaching the Word of God and prayer, trusting that these young believers will soon be true students of Jesus.  Please remember this young work in your prayers!

12 Students of the Bible Gather to Study in PP

There has been an interesting development in our work here, one that was actually a bit unexpected.  One of our Phnom Penh housechurch members has a number of friends that have been asking for quite a while for us to come to their home villages and preach.  Lacking the necessary time to accommodate them, he decided to see if they would be willing to come to Phnom Penh and study together.  They agreed and yesterday we had our first "class" studying the Word of God together!  They come from 5 different provinces in Cambodia.  Our aim is to establish them in the Word of God, train them to lead lives as students of Jesus(righteous living) and send them back to their home villages armed with a new life and a new message!

Thanks for Praying!

Over the course of the past few weeks our family has struggled with a number of health issues.  A huge 'thank you' to all of you who took the time to lift us up in prayer.  Many sent us notes of encouragement and prayers as well - how much we appreciate you!!  Your work of intercession for us personally and for our work here is awesome.

Your partners in the harvest,

Dale, Cathleen and family

P.S.  Upon finishing this letter I took a sip of my coffee without taking the time to look.  I noticed something "gritty" in my mouth and found that the grit was ants! I quickly glanced at my coffee cup and saw that it was literally covered in little red ants.  For you who are "missionaries in training" here's a word of advice, "Always, always look before putting anything into your mouth!"
